Before Jolinaxas left in the morning, he, Rose, and Adam had gotten to sit down for their first dinner as a family. The Blackhats quickly learned their newest member was going to be a handful, but they were happy. Adam was playful, Rose was loving, and for the first time, Jolinaxas finally felt like he was part of a family.

Rose and he had waited for Adam to tire himself out and retire to his small nest of blankets on the left side of the hut before going to bed themselves. Rose had managed to fall asleep, but Jolinaxas found himself squirming all night. He couldn't help but wonder what waited for him back home. What his father would say when he finally found him.

Exhausted, but with his mind racing Jolinaxas lay there with his eyes closed, wondering if he'd ever get to sleep. Jolinaxas felt the warmth of the sun's rays on his face. He groggily lifted his head, to see Adam had dragged his blankets to under the hole in the roof, and was sunbathing again. Jolinaxas looked outside. It was still dark everywhere else. "Go ta bed, son. Now's not the time." Adam rolled underneath his blankets with a weary "dada", and his Sunny Day ended. Jolinaxas nestled himself back down in bed.

Jolinaxas felt the warmth of the sun's rays on his face. He rolled over onto his other side, and peaked his eyes open to see Adam sunbathing again. "Dangit Adam!" Jolinaxas complained. "That's enough. Cut it out with the sun, yer mother an' ah are tryin' ta sleep." Adam released a tiny whimper, and burrowed beneath his blankets. Jolinaxas rolled over, to get at least a few hours of sleep before he left. Rose continued slumbering peacefully.

Jolinaxas felt the warmth of the sun's rays on his face. He really hoped Rose didn't take him up on his offer of getting six more...
